Fate was not kind to the Ramones. The Queens quartet played a key role in the development of punk rock (and actually a lot of light music of the last 40 years), but they never wrote anything that resembled a commercial hit, and they played in small clubs until the end of their career. They became cool at the start of the new millennium - at a time when Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny left a few years apart. Their legacy, however, remains immortal, as do their albums.
